Founded in 1972, Clare Machine Works has gained a solid reputation for building world-class, machine-engineered industrial products and solutions that improve the livelihood of the global marine and fisheries sectors.

Clare Machine Works has been bringing innovative solutions forward for many years, such as custom fish grading solutions and their bait chopper, which helps prepare bait safely. One of their more recent innovations is the Trap Stacker, which helps with the lifting, moving, and stacking of traps onboard vessels.

They were also winners of the 2019 Lobster Bait Challenge, a challenge sponsored by Ignite Labs and Perennia to develop a lobster bait using by-products of the groundfish processing industry in a sustainable way.

As Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and on behalf of the province of Nova Scotia, I award this certificate of excellence with congratulations and gratitude to Clare Machine Works for fostering sustainability and economic growth in our coastal communities through innovation.
